L'Athletique d'Haiti

Since its inception L'Athletique d'Haiti has developed an institution with the sole objective of empowering athletes and coaches to develop their talent to the fullest. Beginning with children at the age of 6, l'Athletique d'Haiti provides them with the opportunity to play sports. L'Athletique focuses on soccer, basketball and track, training a large percentage of all the athletes in Haiti who participate in the country's national games, the highest level of organized sports that exist in the country.

Robert Duval, Founder & Director of L'Athletique d'Haiti

Robert Duval is the founder and director of l'Athletique d'Haiti. Always an athlete, in high school and college he participated on a semi-professional level. After college, he joined the Haitian Olympic Swimming Committee and Haitian Olympic Track Committee. He then became the Secretary General and President of the first division of soccer in Haiti and went on to win the international games entitled Concacaf, which is a competition amongst Caribbean and Central American countries. Haiti has won Concacaf twice. Boby is also a former political prisoner, who was freed by Jimmy Carter's international human rights efforts in Haiti.

"Duval has turned a patch of dirt on the outskirts of an industrial area into a
rare sight here in Haiti's capital: a wide-open green space with lockers, showers and equipment usually unavailable even in the nation's biggest athletic club."
- David Gonzalez, The New York Times
