OCTOBER 2007
The United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (Minustah) offered its services for a few days (between the 17th and 19th of October 2007) to Haitian NGO Athletique d'Haiti. During their stay, the Brazilian Peacekeepers teamed up with Athletique D'Haiti to offer the children from Cite Soleil and Bois Neuf a day of activities (sports, recreational etc) and services which included haircuts and dental care. The Brazilian Battalion delivered food and water to 200 children from these neighborhoods of Cite Soleil.

L'Athletique d'Haiti's management went to Jeremie, which is a city of the department of Grand-Anse with two objectives:

a) Meet with local officials to obtain a green space to open another 'Athletique d'Haiti' training center for the children of Jeremie.
b) Launch the Caribbean professional soccer league.

L'Athletique d'Haiti reached its goal of installing projector lights for its stadium in Drouillard, Haiti. Currently, l'Athletique d'Haiti has already started to have sports games and practices at night. L'Athletique d'Haiti worked hard for five years to achieve this goal, which costs approximately US $120,000. To reach this goal, l'Athletique d'Haiti had to do the following:

a) Buy and install wires to connect the projector lights to the generator.
b) Buy and install a generator of 150 KW capacity.
c) Build 4 strong platforms to support the projector light poles.

L'Athletique d'Haiti would like to thank its sponsors; specifically Comcel Voila and Jean-Marc Larco who helped reach this milestone.

FUTURE PLANS
L'Athletique has a lot of new projects in development including a soup kitchen and a new Stadium in Cite Soliel. The soup kitchen l'Athletique plans to build will be able to feed 7,000 people from the community twice a day - for breakfast and dinner.

The Stadium will be a 10,000 state of the art facility in Cite Soliel. The Stadium will bring revenue into what is one of the poorest areas of Port-Au-Prince, and will be something for the community to rally around. The new Stadium will give people from all over Haiti an opportunity to participate in competitions in a high quality location. The stadium will also bring revenue to other sports clubs in Haiti which will be able to compete and showcase their abilities there.
